My Happiness Plan

“Don’t wait until everything is just right. It will never be perfect. There will always be challenges, obstacles and less than perfect conditions. So what. Get started now. With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful”.

Testimonials

“Based on your experience, yes, would you recommend my therapist.

Positive and back at work. Anxious at first, draining but it has worked and is the process I needed to go through.”

Joanna Nevin | Broxburn

“Yes I would recommend my therapist.

I feel more relaxed generally and I am able to cope again with ordinary situations, which previously were making me stressed. I have been able to enjoy family events without worrying about things not being perfect or second-guessing what people might want. I have stopped constantly making mountains out of molehills.

I found the therapy challenging, and quite tiring, at first but always a positive experience. I found Kamalyn explained my physiological symptoms in a way that helped me understand the way I had been feeling.

I feel I have an understanding, along with some techniques, that will allow me to cope with life better.”

IM | West Lothian

“I would recommend kamalyn to anyone considering therapy. I felt totally at ease from the first session and found it easier to sort through my problems as a result.

I am more aware of my moods and I am able to differentiate between anxiety and genuine threats and because of this I feel I am more able to handle my anxiety which has greatly improved my confidence and self esteem.

On my first consultation I could barely speak and burst into tears as I was so nervous about therapy, but was immediately put at ease and we immediately set out a plan to work through the issues I was having.

I was very happy with my experience and although it has ended I left feeling equipped to handle situations rather than leaving feeling that I was on my own.”

HT | Glasgow

“I would definitely recommend therapist and have already done so.

More aware of my behaviours and thought processes. Clearer understanding on how to help myself and stop my self-limiting behaviours and thoughts.

My therapy experience has been very positive. I was more than ready to go through the process and am really glad that I did.  Kamalyn is a fantastic therapist. She’s kind, easy to talk to, understanding and insightful.  She helped to give me greater self understanding and confidence and taught me coping strategies to use when facing difficult situations.”

Claire Quirk | Glasgow

“Based on my experience would recommend therapist.  Although I still have a way to go, I recognize what changes I want to make and the path that I want to take.

Although I had been avoiding therapy for some time, the experience has really helped me personally and professionally. I felt that I was fully understood and met from the first session through to completion.”

AS | West Lothian

“Based on my experience would recommend therapist 100%.  I am stronger, able to quickly change way of thinking if slipped back into negative / detrimental thoughts and then use appropriate tools taught i.e. breathing and positive thought process.

Emotional experience.  Coming from sessions with a positive outlook and knowing that all the “garbage” in my mind can be changed and doesn’t need to be there because of earlier experiences.”

GM | West Lothian

“Yes would recommend my therapist. A lot happier in myself. Now able to face things rather than ‘put off’. I was sceptical in the beginning, but as the therapy went on, I was able to put things into perspective and deal with ‘life’ and all the things that it can throw at you. I feel it was perfect for me.”

AS | West Lothian

“Yes definitely recommend my therapist. I am a much happier person. Whenever certain situations arise I always now stop and think before reacting in a negative way. I am becoming more positive to situations. Initially I was very sceptical about this, basically because I didn’t know what to expect however probably after my second session I began to change my opinion. It was an emotional roller-coaster but with the help provided I was able to get through these emotions. I don’t have any suggestions or comments as I can only base this on my own sessions which have proved very helpful.”

Alison Hamilton | Glasgow

“Based on my experience, yes I would recommend as Kamalyn was very empathic and supportive. I am more awareness of my thinking processes and have been able to make links between behaviour patterns and past experiences. More able to use ways of standing back and think through situations in a different, more helpful way. Have been able to make positive steps for myself as a direct result. Very positive and challenging in a supportive way. Allowed me time to explore my difficulties and feel listened to. Good handouts to use as reminders.”

LS | West Lothian

“Yes I most certainly would recommend Kamalyn to anyone in need of a good therapist. I have seen a great difference in my levels of confidence in a variety of different situations. I now have the coping mechanisms to deal with stress and anxiety. I felt apprehensive at first, but Kamalyn was very easy to talk to, and her structured therapy sessions were always very helpful to me. I could feel the difference in my self-confidence and mood after each visit.”

Elizabeth McAdams | West Lothian

“Yes, definitely recommend my therapist. I feel more confident and cope with stressful situations better. I am also positive about the future again. My therapy always felt informal, like speaking to a pal which made me feel really at ease and encouraged me to open up and say things that I wouldn’t even say to family of friends. The whole experience for me was so productive, I felt that writing things down during the session really helped because seeing things in black and white in front of you helps you to take in what you are discussing. You can look back on things and it really helped me get things clear in my mind.”

Evelyn Weir | Glasgow

“Yes I would recommend my therapist. I’m more confident and self-assured, calmer and when anxious I’m able to identify why and use the strategies I’ve learned to cope. Therapy had a positive impact on lots of areas in my life. I would recommend CBT to everyone whether they had issues or not it has made me more self-aware and confident in my own analysis of people and situations.”

We all know that persistence is the key to achieving our goals in life, but it's also important to learn when to take a break. If you continuously push your limits, you are at risk of getting to a point of physical and mental exhaustion which leads to the dreaded 'burn out'When you find yourself nearing this point it is not a signal that you should quit, but instead that you need to slow down, take a breath and allow your body to rest. If you are feeling overwhelmed, take some time this weekend to switch off and do things that bring you joy! 💖 ...

It is so easy to fall into a cycle of judging ourselves too harshly in life. When we judge ourselves, we are often attaching labels to situations - good, bad, right, wrong, stupid, lazy etc."I didn't go to the gym today, I am so bad""I got something wrong, I am so stupid""I woke up late today, I am so lazy"Instead of accepting situations in a factual way, these labels make us react to the situation emotionally rather than rationally. When we are reacting emotionally, we will no doubt be experiencing stress, anxiety and guilt. If we want to start viewing situations more rationally, we need to take away the judgment. We do this by accepting situations based on facts and evidence."I didn't go to the gym today, because I needed a break""I got that wrong but now I know what to do next time""I woke up late today, my body obviously needed the rest"Do you see how much of a difference removing those labels can make?Your negative emotion isn't a direct result of the situation, but of the negative judgements that you are attaching to it. Beginning to accept situations for what they really are is key to freeing ourselves from this judgmental mindset that can be so harmful to our emotional wellbeing!I would love to know if you guilty of judging yourself too harshly? ...
